A Journey Back to Art

Art has always been my first love. In my younger days, I immersed myself in the world of color and form, honing my skills with oil paints and dreaming of sharing my vision. Life took me on other paths, but at 75, with retirement as my new canvas, I’ve returned to my roots with renewed energy. This second chapter feels like a homecoming, and I’m thrilled to dedicate my time to creating works that speak to the heart.

Inspired by Cavaliers

My muse? The elegant and affectionate Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This inspiration comes not just from my own admiration but from my wife, a devoted breeder, owner, and handler of the breed for over 20 years. Together, we’ve built a deep connection with the Cavalier community—breeders, clubs, and owners—who share our love for these soulful dogs. My paintings are a tribute to their beauty, personality, and the joy they bring, often captured in a contemporary Impressionist style with loose brushstrokes and vibrant colors.

My Artistic Style

Drawing from the Impressionist tradition, I focus on the play of light, the texture of oil, and the emotion of the moment—whether it’s a girl reading to her Cavalier by a window or two dogs basking by a fireplace. My work blends nostalgia with a modern twist, inviting viewers to feel the warmth of the scene rather than just see it. Most Treasured Piece of Art

This unbelievably beautiful portrait of my children will forever be my most treasured piece of art. The detail and how he captured their faces is incredible. He took a moment in time and memorialized it for me to look on fondly for many years to come.
